Maranatha
First of all, some of you may recognize the title which I have placed on this article. Maranatha is an Aramaic phrase meaning “come, O Lord.” Obviously this is expressing hope for the second coming of Jesus. –“If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be An-ath-e-ma Mar-an-a-tha.” 1 Corinthians 16:22- When the word is used in this expression it means “Accursed-the Lord is coming!” The message in this verse is clearly in view of the imminent coming of the Lord. Do we realize how real his second coming is?

Dear brothers and sisters and friends,
I arrived safely in Hungary yesterday evening (Hungarian time). The first flight left from Dulles airport at 10:00 PM eastern time. It was a seven hour flight to Frankfort Germany. After an eight hour layover in Frankfort, I boarded my flight to Hungary, which was only an hour and a half. Paul Meehan picked me up from the airport and we arrived by cab to the office/home in Budapest.
Today (Friday) we stayed in the office most of the day and I met two of the people that help with the running of the office and the translation. Veronika does much of the office work and Gyözö (Jyerzer) who helps with some of the translating. The main work for me today was mainly just getting settled in, meeting everyone, and starting to learn a bit of Hungarian--I was studying the alphabet which has 44 letters. In the evening we took public transportation to Dunakeszi, about a forty or forty-five minute commute. We were there for a Bible study in the assembly there. I was asked to briefly introduce myself, and got my first experience in speaking through a translator. There are several people who speak some English, but not very much. Jóska Szabo (his wife is Éva) translated for Mr. Meehan and I. There were about thirty people there. Afterwards we ate dinner with Jóska and family who run a ministry from their house, letting some former prisoners and/or their families to live with them. From my impression and other reports about them, they are very hard working, self-sacrificial, and hospitable. Please pray for Jóska and his family.

Dear Brothers, Sisters, and Friends,
The first few days here have been a great blessing from the Lord. We have been very busy moving from one place to another, mostly by the Budapest transit system. The soccer game went well, about twelve people came for the game and we played 6 v. 6. All of the players were good. What I wasn't counting on when I started playing, was that the game would go on for two hours, with a 3-5 minute break after the first hour. Needless to say I am very sore now, but look forward to next week's match. I have been asked to share my testimony after the match. Mr. Meehan also arranged for me to give my testimony at the family Bible hour.
The assembly in Dunakeszi is very different than many in the states. Many of the people seem to love the Lord very much, and appreciated the Lord's Supper and the family Bible hour--both of which I was able to enjoy more fully thanks to a translator (Judith Kepler) from the assembly. The assembly is full of dear believers, just as in the US. There are definitely some things I disagree with the way that things are done, but I will not get into details here. They are a growing assembly and are very active in evangelism (particularly prison ministry). The people are materially poor, and yet those whom I have met have been incredibly hospitable, giving what they had for others, and the Lord has been, is, and will provide for their needs. What an example this should be to all of us...an example of true sacrifice. True sacrifice must cost something.

Dear brethren,
What are we doing with our lives? There is nothing in this life worth while, there is nothing in this world that is worth living for. Solomon, the richest, wisest of all men said:
Ecclesiastes 1:14 I have seen all the works that are done under the sun, and behold, all is vanity and pursuit of the wind.

He has made each and everyone of us in a very unique and special way. And He want's to use each and everyone of us for His Honor and His Glory.
So if you are feeling downhearted and sad. Remember you are still special. Read Psalm 139. And v.14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wondefully made. Do you have that confidence?
I suggest next time you get downhearted that you still are special, and each and every one of us can and will be used in unique ways to do His will.

Everybody want's to have a good life now a days. No wonder many study a lot, recycle themselves. And try so evermore to better there lives. That in itself is great. But unfortunately many take things for face value.
We need to verify what we hear and make sure it is accurate with what scripture teaches. And we can do that by making sure we are in the word. Analizing, studying and applying the principles that we find on a " daily" basis.
See an example of this in the Bereans. Read :

What A Friend We Have in Jesus
I love this song--"What a PRIVILEGE to carry everything to God in prayer." The lyrics never cease to amaze me.
