Matt. 25: 14-28.
The Parable of the Talents.
We have here a master who is going on a trip away from home and he gives his servants some money so that they can trade and invest, and when he returned he would collect the profits that they had made.
Likewise God has given us his orders/ commandments that we must fulfill. Then when he returns to earth He will inquire of the things he has given us and ask what we did with his orders (as well as the resources He has given us). If we were like the first two servants and did well with what he gave us, then he will give us the reward for fulfilling his will. But if we were like the last servant who received the one talent and buried the duties that God gave us, we will not have the reward of a righteous servant. We will not be given much responsibilities later on the new earth, because we have not proven to be a faithful steward.
-We are not going to be on earth for a long time.
-We are going to be in God’s kingdom forever.
-What we do here on earth is how God will reward us later in eternity.
